New Directors for South Region from Texas; |
|
The Independent Softball Association is proud to announce the appointment of two slowpitch softball veterans as Directors for the ISA South Region; Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Keith Parker has been appointed Western Regional VP and Jim Cary appointed Texas State Director. Both live in Longview, Texas. Both Cary and Parker began their slowpitch playing carrers in the early 70's, playing Super Division SlowPitch. Today both play Senior Softball almost year round. Both Cary and Parker are members of The National Senior Softball Hall Of Fame. ISA wishes both of them luck in their endeavors to bring ISA Softball to the South Region of the USA.

June 28-29th saw 27 teams come to Gainesville Georgia and battle it out to take the World Series berth back home with them. Early action say some great battles as some early favorites looked to be on track. Diamond Kings slipped past the Trouble Makers by a score of 6 to 1 while Hammered came out of a 10 inning battle with Off Constantly by the score of 8-7. Meanwhile Ga Legacy was slipping by Stingers by a score of 7 to 1 and Diamond Jacs where getting by Ga Diamondbacks 11 to 1. After some great games and some great defensive battles saw Sunday roll around with the final four being the Jokers, Diamond Kings, Ga Legacy, and Diamond Jacs. After Jokers had slipped by Mtn Pro Realty by the score of 6-3 ans Diamond Kings beating Drive By with a 14 to 5 score. Diamond Jacs were handling Ga Legacy with a 14 to 2, 5 inning defeat on field 1 while on field 2 the Diamond Kings were beating the Jokers 15 to 7. The 3rd place game saw Ga Legacy staying flat and Diamond Kings handing them a 15 to 2 run rule. Then the championship game came down to Diamond Jacs vs Diamond Kings. All were expecting a high scoring affair but thru 5 innings it was all knotted up at 1 to 1. Diamond Kings plated 2 to go ahead 3 to 1 but the Diamond Jacs came in and answered by put 8 on the board for a 9 to 3 tally after 6 and held on for the NIT Championship with a paid berth to Winter Haven for the World Series. Gainesville Parks and Recreation would like to thank TPS for their support of this event.
